Holt Jr Rams Baseball Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide opportunities and exposure while competing at the highest levels in youth baseball and instilling discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, honesty and integrity. Holt Junior Rams Baseball teaches their players to respect the game, work hard, and to play hard.

Philosophy Statement

Holt Junior Rams Baseball focuses on consistent hard work and striving to become a better ballplayer. We believe in pushing your teammates to be better, picking them up when they are down, and always believing in yourself. The character is revealed in times of adversity and baseball provides that adversity. By putting these young baseball players in extremely competitive situations, we help them develop their character which will benefit them not only in baseball but in life.

Program Summary

Holt Junior Rams Baseball works closely with Delhi Township Parks and Recreations to provide opportunities for players of all skill levels to play baseball and to assist in building a strong foundation for Holt Junior Rams Baseball. Evaluations will be in early February and then final teams are formed. Players will be assigned to teams based on skill level and age.

This season, Holt Junior Rams Baseball will field teams from U8-U14. Each age bracket will play a minimum of 12 Pony League games. All teams are encouraged to play in tournaments (cost not included in program fees).

Registration & Cost

Registration is fast and simple using our online form at this site. Registration is required prior to player evaluations. Evaluations will be held in February 2025.

The cost of participating in the program for 2024 is $285 for U9-U14 and $185 for U8 to play on a basic Pony League team. There is a $25 early bird discount if registered by January 31st. These teams play 12 PONY league games, and an optional end of season tournament. At the coach and parents' discretion, additional tournaments may be added (and are highly encouraged). The cost of these additional tournaments is the responsibility of the parents.

Divisions

Age divisions are U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, and U14. The age is determined by the player's age as of April 30th of the current season year.  This age is set by the PONY sanctioning organization.

Coaches Selection

Volunteer coaches are selected per review of candidates by the Holt Jr Rams Baseball Board of Directors. Anyone interested in coaching should note such on the Player Registration form. Coaches are expected to sign a "Coach's Creed" that outlines expectations of the organization. Perspective coaches need to attend Holt Jr Rams Baseball coaching fundamentals and team development training. A background check is conducted on all coaches and assistant coaches for the safety of our children.

League Play

Holt Junior Rams Baseball teams play a 12 game Mid-Michigan Pony League season, with approximately six (6) games in Holt and six (6) games in neighboring Mid-Michigan communities. Games usually have a 6:30 p.m. start time with a 2 hour time limit. Most games are scheduled on Monday-Thursday evenings, but if there are field limitations some Friday games may result.

Uniforms & Equipment

Players are provided a uniform that includes a uniform shirt, pants, and hat. Holt Junior Rams Baseball will provide baseballs, bats, helmets, and catcher's equipment for use during the season (however players are encouraged to purchase and wear their own helmets for proper fit and personal hygiene purposes.)
